Van Guylder - Hollywood Babylon (1972)

"Interesting little exploitmenatary!? Is that a word? This is a documentary of sorts on Hollywood in the 20's and 30's. It shows reenactments of many of the major scandals which mostly involved sex. As this film is for "adults only", the vignettes involve mainly naked people running around and/or having sex. I thought this was quite an interesting little history lesson about the golden days of Hollywood and yet an exploitation movie at the same time. Neat little concept. 70's exploitation queen Uschi Digart is one of the co-stars and it is based on the book of the same name by Kenneth Anger. Released by Something Weird Video. - Chainsaw Fodder

Virginie Despentes & Coralie - Baise-moi AKA Fuck me (2000)

Described by the British press as “the most sexually explicit film to ever reach our cinema screens,” Baise-moi is the brutal and shocking tale of two young girls, who, after being subjected to violence, rape and humiliation in the degenerate society in which they live, break free to embark on an ultimately self-destructive road trip of sex and murder, always staying one step ahead of capture, but always hell bent on taking more and more risk.

Byron Mabe - Space-Thing (1968)

Col. James Granilla is on a mission to learn about the Terranians and destroy their vessel. Terranians capture him, and he quickly blends in and gains their trust. In order to learn about them he ends up making love to their disgusting alien bodies (not so disgusting if you ask me).

This film is pretty corny. It's not pornographic, just lots of nudity such as films of the time had. The women in this film are quite beautiful, except for one way over-tanned blonde who looks like a ganguro girl.

Jerami Cruise - August Underground's Mordum (2003)

AUGUST UNDERGROUND'S MORDUM

SNUFF EDITION
This is the limited Snuff Edition for the second movie in the August Underground trilogy. Not only Mordum is the sickest of the series, but also the one that benefits the most from the Snuff treatment. The original August Underground was already a 2-disc, and Penance came originally with extra features, but Mordum was first released barebones. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, so for those who dig it I hope you enjoy the upload.

This "movie" is shit. It's totally grotesque, incoherent and there's no actual storyline, to come up with a synopsis here. (and even if there was, you wouldn't really care, right?)

Doris Wishman - My Brother's Wife (1966)

MY BROTHER'S WIFE, Wishman-heads are back in safe territory with plenty of cutaways to paintings, chairs, and shoes and awkward dubbing. But more than a roughie, this film is Wishman's take on the 40s film noir genre, with a doomed love triangle, scheming criminals, hard-boiled dialogue and a number of far-fetched plot twists amidst the typical Wishman trappings. To keep the plot moving, a cast of familiar faces play each sad and pathetic character. To play the unhappy hausfrau, Wishman tapped June Roberts, a baby-faced nude model whose figure could cut glass and who bears a striking resemblance to Mike Vraney and Something Weird's #1 lady, Lisa Petrucci. Roberts would also grace the films of Barry Mahon, Michael Findlay, and Joseph Mawra, but her talents would be best tested by sexploitation maestro Joe Sarno in a leading role in MOONLIGHTING WIVES and supporting roles in FLESH AND LACE, THE NAKED FOG, RED ROSES OF PASSION and THE LOVE MERCHANT.

John Coney - Sun Ra: Space Is the Place [+Extras] (1974)

Science fiction, blaxploitation, cosmic free-jazz and radical race politics combine when Sun Ra returns to earth in his music-powered space ship to battle for the future of the black race and offer an "alter-destiny" to those who would join him.

Stephen C. Apostolof - Orgy of the Dead (1965)

Orgy of the Dead wouldn't be worth anyone's time were it not for its star and screenwriter. The star is the inimitable prognosticator Criswell; the screenwriter is the immortal Ed Wood Jr., adapting his own novel. The King of Wretched Cinema weaves an incredible tale of a writer who decides to spend a night in a cemetery, the better to get into the mood to write a book on necrophiliacs. The writer and his girl friend are overpowered by several zombielike nude ladies (all played by LA strippers). Hero and heroine are tied to posts and subjected to the oratory of Criswell, aka "The Emperor." As if Criswell's ramblings aren't torture enough, the couple is then forced to watch the naked necromancers punish several "sinners" who've been condemned to eternal Darn-ation. The festivities come to an end when the sun rises, reducing Criswell and his followers to dust.

Martin Scorsese - Boxcar Bertha (1972)

“Produced by Roger Corman and directed by Martin Scorsese, Boxcar Bertha is a Bonnie and Clyde-like yarn set during the Depression. The title character, played by Barbara Hershey, links up with union organizer David Carradine (Hershey's real-life lover at the time) after the death of her father. Running afoul of anti-union forces, Bertha and Carradine are forced into a life of crime. Whereas Bonnie and Clyde robbed banks, Boxcar Bertha's specialty is trains. A story of this nature can only end in tragedy, and wait until you see Carradine's symbolic demise! For the record, there really was a Boxcar Bertha Thompson, and it is her autobiography, Sister of the Road, that serves as the basis for Joyce and John Corrington's screenplay.”

Sharad Patel - Rise and Fall of Idi Amin (1980)

A pseudo-documentary about former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Even Amin's friends were terrified of him, and those who were able to escape his regime brought tales of brutality and perversion which rival those of Hitler. Among these stories were reports of cannibalism practiced by Amin in the old African tradition of consuming the power of an enemy. Many of these tales, including the cannibalism, are sensationalized in this film.

Russ Meyer - Mudhoney (1965)

Calif McKinney (John Furlong) is an ex-con traveling from Michigan to California during the depression. Upon stopping in Spooner, Missouri, to find work, he becomes employed as a farmhand under Sidney (Hal Hopper) and Hannah Brenshaw (Antoinette Christiani), a married couple who are having difficulties. Sidney is a raving alcoholic who can't stay away from the house of Maggie Marie (Princess Livingston), a crazed old woman who prostitutes her two beautiful young daughters (Lorna Maitland and Rena Horton), one of whom is deaf. As Sidney descends deeper into alcoholic madness, love blossoms between austere Hannah and Calif. They have the blessing of father figure Lute Wade (Stu Lancaster), but it's certain that Sidney will not easily give up his wife.

Teuvo Tulio - Sensuela (1973)

The Finnish camp classic of all time!

"Sensuela - woman hot as hell, wet as a swamp, she will suck the men inside her!"

Not many films have the dubious honor of ranking as some of the campiest Finnish movies ever made. Teuvo Tulio (1912-2000) started to film Sensuela already in 1964, but interrupted it largely due to the financial reasons. The movie was shot entirely with an old equipment from the 1940's, which explains the dreamy look of the shots and finely detailed color stock. Most of the scenes were shot during 1967-1968, and some of the retakes and extra scenes were still filmed after the premiere. Meanwhile one of the leading actors Ossi Elstelä died in 1969 and his lines were dubbed by Uolevi Vahteristo.

Jack Hill - Foxy Brown (1974)

Pam Grier, the voluptuous queen of blaxploitation movies (and the foxy title character of Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown) reigns supreme in this kick-ass action flick. Bodacious nurse Foxy takes the law into her own hands after her main squeeze is murdered in cold blood. The standard revenge plot of Foxy Brown moves along on fast-forward, and the violence ratio (some of it quite gruesome) is high.

Umberto Lenzi - Cannibal Ferox (1981)

Cannibal Ferox (1981) is what could be the 'last great' or 'last worst' film in the popular catalogue of Italian cannibal films. It is often a contender with Ruggero Deodato's repulsive Cannibal Holocaust as the most revolting film ever made. While neither of them have any right to that title, they are both two of the worst good films ever made. While Cannibal Ferox may not be everyone's idea of a good time at the movies, it is one of the grimmest, most harrowing horror films ever made.

Cannibal Ferox follows a group of college students who set out in the Amazon jungle in search of a tribe of alleged cannibals.

Claude Pierson - Justine de Sade (1972)

This bleak French film retells the adventures (sexual and otherwise) of Justine, from a book by the notorious Marquis De Sade. Justine (Alice Arno) is a poor serving girl who tries to maintain her virtue and her standards. Unfortunately, she is victimized by everyone she encounters. She is sent to jail by an early employer because she refuses to steal. In another scene, the man she saves from a gang of outlaws rapes her. Once again she is victimized by a sodomitical pair when she won't help them kill one of their aunts. Finally, just as she is about to find some real help, lightning strikes.

Georg Tressler - Sukkubus - den Teufel im Leib (1989)

Obscure alpine sexploitationary horror with delicious camp instincts. This was never released on dvd.

A Swiss legend tells of three shepherds and their privations, "weiberlosen" time in the mountains. And as her wicked doings will be severely punished - by a bare Wurzelhexe ...
REVIEW:

A former classmate, let's call him Fred, looks at the happy Sepp Forcher - with sound turned off. Namely Fred loves the beauty of the local mountains. But not the accompanying volksdümmliche Gedudel.

Succubus - the devil in him would also be a film for Fred. For the beauty of the Alpine mountains is captured very atmospheric. And instead of folk music here sounds very consistent, Spaghetti Western-inspired score.

Gustav Wiklund - Sängkamrater aka Wide Open [+Extras] (1975)

The taxidriver Paul and his girlfriend, the journalist Marianne (Solveig Andersson) starts to argue when Paul drags home his father, who is an alcoholic. At a party the bored Paul seduces a willing blonde in the room next to all the other guests. The next morning he wakes up between Marianne and her sister Beryl. The next couple of days are very hectic for Paul, with striptease, women and a meeting with the sadistic Mr X. Beryl escapes Mr X dressed only in a minkfur filled with drugs. Very dangerous...!

Roger Vadim - Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971)

Oceanfront High School has a problem. No, it's not the oddly named Ponce De Leon Harper and his propensity toward constant erections. No, it's not new substitute teacher Mrs. Smith, with breasts and a butt that can literally stop traffic. It can't be the majority of the student body because they're too busy believing in free love and the possible end of the War in Vietnam to cause much trouble...and it's definitely not Principal Proffer, an administrator who never met a difficulty he couldn't duck. No, the real contention seems to revolve around Guidance Counselor, Football Coach, school sage, and all around macho menace Michael "Tiger" McGrew. Using his status to gain the female students trust, he beds the babes with reckless abandon. When then start turning up dead, however, a suspicious policeman named Kojak...sorry, Captain Sam Surcher shows up and starts asking a lot of questions...only McGrew seems to be short on legitimate, non-psychobabble answers.

Akira Hirose - Oppai Chanbara AKA Chanbara Striptease (2008)

From the creators of, but not to be confused with “Chanbara Beauty” or its sequel “Vortex” comes “Chanbara Striptease”. Directed by Akira Hirose, the film delivers pretty much exactly as expected, being a low budget slice of uniquely Japanese silliness that revolves entirely around the premise of topless sword fighting. The film’s AV idol lead cast are certainly well qualified for such a challenge, including the likes of Sasa Handa (also in the excellent “The Girls Rebel Force of Competitive Swimmers”), Ryo Akanishi, Lulu Anoa, and Mina Asa. Viewers can now enjoy the spectacle for themselves as the film arrives on region 2 DVD via Manga Entertainment, coming as a bare bones, extras free release.

Cesare Canevari - L'Ultima orgia del III Reich AKA Gestapo's last orgy (1977)

Romance in a Nazi death camp

The Gestapo's Last Orgy concerns an unlikely romance between a Nazi death camp commandant and a Jewish female prisoner, Lise Cohen. Shortly after the war they rendezvous at the dilapidated remains of the concentration camp they met. From here, the story is told in flashback. We discover that the camp was used to incarcerate Jewish women. These women were subsequently subjected to all manner of sexual degradation, torture and death. Lise refuses to be broken by her Nazi oppressors and, subsequently, becomes the object of the camp commandant's obsession. This leads to her being treated in increasingly degrading ways. But the commandant's obsession also offers her hope of salvation.

As an example of the Naziploitation sub-genre, The Gestapo's Last Orgy is a more hard-edged entry than the very silly SS Experiment Camp. Unlike the latter film, there is more of an attempt at authenticity. The victims are clearly referred to as Jews and the treatment meted out to the women is often very disturbing. That is not to say that the film is a convincing depiction of events in a Nazi death camp - it is pretty ridiculous a lot of the time. However, there is a definite mean-spiritedness about this exploitation movie. The women seem to be constantly undressed. There is a great deal of sexual assault, humiliation and torture. The victims are hung naked from chains, fed to dobermans, drowned in quicklime - you name it. This, of course, all sounds extremely lurid and nasty. And it is. But the film isn't terribly well-made, so it isn't quite as shocking as it sounds. The crazy dubbing does not help matters either. Nevertheless, I would be very surprised if this film finds itself released uncut on DVD in the UK. With it's combination of sex and violence, this is one of the infamous 'video nasties' that would still pose some problems to UK censors. So, if that is enough of a recommendation for you then go for it.
