Produced by penny-pinching back-lot maven Sam Katzman, the series began in
1948 with Jungle Jim and ended just seven years later in 1955 with Devil Goddess
(lacking the rights to the "Jungle Jim" name, the last three of the sixteen episodes
featured Weissmuller playing "Johnny Weissmuller ", a character with an
uncanny resemblance to Jungle Jim.)
